Meet The Owners
Kirk Brown
Kirk Brown started his career behind the wheel of a delivery truck before turning hard work into a family business that's been serving customers for more than 25 years. Built on a handshake, honesty, and keeping his word, Capitol City reflects the values he's lived by from day one.
If you've ever called the office, you've probably heard his signature greeting: "Best day of my life!" And one of his favorite family stories? While his wife was delivering their twins early in 2001, Kirk was still making sure customers got their deliveries on time. Around here, they like to say those were the only deliveries he was happy to have arrive early.
Founder & PresidentCo-Owner & Chief Financial OfficerDawanda Brown
While helping build Capitol City from the ground up, Dawanda Brown was also raising four children and making sure her family understood the value of hard work. Known for running a tight ship, she's the steady hand behind the business, managing the finances, keeping operations organized, and making sure every detail is handled with care.
She's proudly old-school. Even today, you'll find her balancing the books with pen and paper, signing every check by hand, and personally paying every bill. For Dawanda, there's no substitute for knowing exactly where every dollar goes.
Old School Values. Modern Service.
“We built this company the old-fashioned way: with a handshake, hard work, and keeping our word. That's how we've earned our customers' trust for more than 25 years. Today, we're embracing new technology and fresh ideas to grow Capitol City for the future, while staying true to the values that built it in the first place. Some things should never change.”
